Chariot for the Needy Foundation is committed to safeguarding the legal rights and advancing the social justice of Nigeria’s most vulnerable groups, including indigent families and internally displaced persons. By offering free or low-cost legal representation, rights education, and advocacy services, the organization aims to create a lasting impact on access to justice and policy reform.

Mission Statement:
To promote justice and equality by providing accessible legal assistance and robust advocacy for poor indigent families and internally displaced persons in Nigeria, empowering them to assert their rights and influence positive social change.

Vision Statement:
A Nigeria where every individual, regardless of economic status or displacement, enjoys full access to justice and legal protection, fostering a more equitable society.

3. Aims and Objectives

Aims:

• Access to Justice: Ensure that vulnerable individuals have affordable, high-quality legal representation and advice.
• Advocacy and Policy Reform: Drive systemic changes to strengthen legal frameworks that protect the rights of indigent and displaced populations.
• Community Empowerment: Educate communities on their legal rights and mechanisms for redress.
• Sustainable Impact: Develop a model of operation that maximizes resource efficiency and fosters long-term community resilience.

Objectives:

1. Legal Services:
   • Offer pro bono or subsidized legal counsel, representation, and mediation services.
   • Establish legal aid clinics in regions with high numbers of IDPs and indigent families.
2. Advocacy and Awareness:
   • Launch public awareness campaigns on legal rights, with a focus on vulnerable communities.
   • Organize community workshops and seminars in partnership with local organizations.
3. Policy Engagement:
   • Collaborate with government bodies and policymakers to advocate for reforms that address legal injustices.
   • Draft policy briefs and research reports to inform national debate on human rights issues.
4. Capacity Building:
   • Train community paralegals and local leaders to offer first-line legal support and referrals.
   • Develop mentorship programs for aspiring legal professionals from underrepresented communities.
5. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E):
   • Implement robust M&E systems to track case outcomes, advocacy impact, and community feedback.
